Where are the adventure games?

Not many adventure games are being made.  I am talking about full length, best graphics type games.  I wish a high quality developer like Id Software would make an adventure game where the focus is on exploration and not on shooting monsters.  Sure shooting can be included, but the focus should be a quest of some type.  And if it was point and click, I would be in heaven.  Even if it was just mouse control that would be great.
I don't like console games and really detest keyboard w,a,d,s or arrows movement.  I use right mouse button movement. It is alot easier.
Get to work Id Software.

Don't get me wrong, I love FPS games and have bought and played every Id game ever made. But I am getting sick of military shooters, where it teaches one how to fight war.
Getting on my soapbox, I think the Army putting out a free military FPS, to get recruits is just plain wrong. The America's Army game should not exist in my view.

I am playing number 7.  It is quit a good series point and click games.  Ben is a supernatural investigator. The games work in Windows 7 64-bit without changing the properties.
