Patching Hexen II
This section applies if you do not have the mission pack.
Firstly, you need to make sure you have your copy of Hexen II is patched to the latest official version.
If your version of Hexen II is not version 1.11 you need to run the patch file "ph2v111.exe".
If you do not have this file, you can download it from the UQE website. (http://www.quake-engine.com/)
Once you have patched your copy of Hexen II to version 1.11, we can go to the next step.
Secondly, you need to "clean" your Hexen II game, by removing all old files.
We are intrested in the root folder, "/hexen2/", aswell as the game data folder "/data1/".
In the root folder, "/hexen2/", delete all files including the game EXE files, leaving only the following original file intact: "uninst.isu".
In the game data folder, "/data1/", delete all files including any CFG files, leaving only the following original files intact: "pak0.pak", "pak1.pak".
If there is a "/portals/" game data folder, delete it completely.
Theres one more cosmetic thing we need to do:
If you have already run GL Hexen II, there will be a directory named "/glhexen/" under your "/data1/" directory.
If the directory exists.. delete the "/glhexen/" directory.
Once this is done, you may continue and unzip to effectively install and upgrade your copy of Hexen II to UQE Hexen II to your game's
root "/hexen2/" directory.
When this has been completed successfully you can go ahead and enjoy UQE Hexen II !!
Do the above than download UQE Hexen 2 1.13 http://www.quake-engine.com/download.aspx?game=hx2
Just install the game engine into the prepared root hexen directory C:\hexen2 or whatever you named it.
